An allrounder, Steven Mullaney made his debut for Lancashire Second XI in 2004. He has played for Leigh in the Liverpool Competition, and in 2005 toured India with the England Under-19. Although overlooked for England's tour of Bangladesh later that year, in which England lost 11-0, he was selected for the World Cup in Sri Lanka in 2006.He marked his first-class debut with an impressive display of hitting, taking 165 off Durham UCCE, but is still waiting for his major breakthrough.
