Date-stamped : 30 Jul97 - 11:31 Tour Match: Qayyum stays cool By Richard Bright at Southampton RANA QAYYUM stayed cool in the crisis to ease the Pakistan A side to a six-wicket victory over Hampshire at Southampton yes- terday. With the tourists set a target of only 168 from their 50 overs, the match appeared evenly poised when they were reduced to 81 for three following the dismissal of Hasan Raza. But Qayyum, who struck six crisp boundaries in his 47, shared in a fourth-wicket stand of 38 with his captain, Mohammad Wasim, who made 42. He was then joined by the all-rounder Azhar Mahmood and shared an unbroken partnership of 49 to steer his side home with more than five overs to spare. Hampshire had earlier been dismissed for 167 as they struggled to cope with a slow pitch, tight bowling and enthusiastic fielding.
