Mark Hardinges made his debut for Gloucestershire back in 2001, but it was not until 2005 that he really began to make his mark in the team. He contributed a County Championship best score of 111 not out in an unbroken partnership of 221 with Ramnaresh Sarwan in 2005, and also took 32 wickets that season. He built on these performances with another consistent allround season in 2006.
