Profile
Maurice Chambers is a Jamaican-born fast bowler who made his first-class debut for Essex in 2005 against Durham at the Riverside. Although still part of the Academy set-up, Chambers forced his way into the first-team reckoning in the 2006 season. He was given his British Citizenship in July 2007. He had previously been allowed to feature for the county as a non-overseas player, as well as for England Under-19s, due to special dispensation being granted by the ECB. Citizenship rendered him eligible to represent Essex and England without restriction.
