Qatar to seek ICC Affiliate status April 21, 1999 The Qatar Cricket Association will seek Affiliate Status of the ICC at the world governing body's June meeting in London. The QCA's senior competition has just concluded with Gold Smith defeating Alfardon in the final recently. Gold Smith had previously beat Almana Group XI to reach the final, while Alfardon Club eliminated Qatar Clay Bricks to reach the title decider. The A Division, Qatar's elite senior competition,. comprised 12 teams this season while 23 teams contested the B Division, for junior teams.
