SAN DIEGO - PRAJA inc., an innovator in immersive sports and entertainment software for the Internet, announced the launch of PRAJA's CricVision, an interactive sports experience that features one-stop access to live match coverage and in-depth information of the 1999 Cricket World Cup.
Powered by PRAJA Presence(TM) technology, the product lets each fan fine-tune his or her experience to monitor selected players, teams, and statistics. The fans are treated to live ball-by-ball commentary, complete match analyses, interactive real-time graphics, and details on batting, runs and balls.
"PRAJA's CricVision is the only place where fans can track all of the live action and find complete stats and ball-by-ball analysis," said Ramesh Jain, chief executive officer of PRAJA inc. "In addition to the detailed game insights, the unique PRAJA event notification system lets each fan set 'alerts' that literally beep when selected game highlights occur: like when a player gets 100 runs, or when a wicket has fallen," said Jain. "No other sports application offers such a complete integrated experience tailored to each fan's interests."
PRAJA first introduced its integrated real-time sports experience when it partnered with broadcast.com for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in March 1999. Broadcast.com had great success with the PRAJA "Tournament Tracker" product where avid basketball fans were able to monitor the live action and statistics of multiple games simultaneously. On average, basketball fans were visiting the site and interacting for over one hour per session.
PRAJA Presence technology gathers event information from multiple sources and integrates them in one database. From this database, PRAJA applications create a composite view of the event using a combination of audio, video, text, and interactive graphics to describe the action according to the specified interests of the user. PRAJA's ability to provide real-time information via a customized experience keeps fans stuck on the site and coming back for every game.
The PRAJA cricket product is the result of a partnership with CricInfo (www.cricket.org), the world's leading cricket site, which draws over 50 million page views per month. Second only to soccer in worldwide sports popularity, cricket is played in over sixty countries around the world and is watched by over one billion people. In addition to its broad international audience, cricket's popularity also continues to grow in the United States.
"There is a huge expatriate following in the United States who regularly visit the CricInfo site to follow their favorite team, gain a sense of community, and feel more connected to home," Jain said.
PRAJA's technology has exciting applications for other sports and entertainment events as well. In addition to its launch of cricket and NCAA basketball, PRAJA has also developed similar interactive products for college football and is developing partnerships for other events and experiences.
