West Indies team coach Malcolm Marshall is in a stable condition
following "a major abdominal operation" at a hospital in Birmingham,
England, last Saturday, Dr.Rudi Webster said yesterday.
"Malcolm has had major abdominal surgery and is recovering and in a
stable condition," Dr Webster, the performance consultant and doctor
attached to the team, said in a statement. "He is ecpected to stay in
hospital for approximately 10 days, provided the post-operative
recovery is uneventful."
Team manager Clive Lloyd said he had been "in regular touch" with
both Dr.Webster and the hospital about Marshall's condition. "We hope
the victory over New Zealand (at Southampton yesterday) would be a
boost for him," Lloyd said.
