Kaluwitharana selected for BCCSL Colts XI

Romesh Kaluwithrana has been named captain of the BCCSL Colts XI that will play England in a limited overs match at Welegedera Stadium, Kurunegala on Saturday.

Kaluwitharana has been dropped from the Sri Lankan Test squad after a string of poor batting performances in the past 12 months. Although his Test match form has been poor, he was one of the leading run scorers in the One Day Internationals in South Africa and is likely to be included in the one-day squad for the England series.

The BCCSL Colts XI also includes seven players with One Day International experience. Ian Daniel, Jehan Mubarak and Prasanna Jayawardene are the players not expected to play in the 14-man squad.
