SPCL3 Week18 - League whitewash for Alton

Alton are celebrating a 14-win whitewash of the Southern Electric Premier League, Division 3 championship.

They completed a clean sweep with a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Waterlooville, who are relegated alongside Flamingo.

New Zealander Ben Jansen took 4-24 and later hit 67 as Alton cruised past Ville's 137 all out.

Ventnor, whose home match with Southsea was a victim of Friday's heavy rain, will be promoted alongside Alton, provided their Steephill ground is accredited for Premier 2 cricket.

Third-placed Trojans went out with a 298-run scoring spree at Hungerford - South African Erasmus Hendrikse (60) topping the 1,000-run mark for the season and clinching the divisional batting prize in the bargain.
