Calmore future rest with next weeks result

Calmore Sports immediate future in the ECB Southern Electric Premier League top flight rest entirely on the outcome of next Saturday's bottom-of-the-table crunch match against Portsmouth.

Calmore Sports immediate future in the ECB Southern Electric Premier League top flight rest entirely on the outcome of next Saturday's bottom-of-the-table crunch match against Portsmouth.
It's a match Calmore MUST win - and win well - after gleaning only one point from a disastrous ten-wicket defeat at Bournemouth.
The result has left Calmore 29 points adrift of Portsmouth, who contrived to lose by three runs to the Hampshire Academy - after having the Young Hawks in desperate straits at 36-5 at one stage.
Calmore, minus several first choice players, sank from 69-2 (Simon Ennew 30) to 95-6 and an eventual 127 all out at Chapel Gate.
Martin Miller gobbled up five victims behind the stumps as Jo Wilson (4-23), Sean Walbridge (3-23) and Adam Voges (2-18) cut through Calmore's threadbare order.
It was all done and dusted 36 overs after tea, with Richard Scott (61) and Matt Swarbrick (54) polishing off the target to keep Bournemouth in second place.
Portsmouth must be wondering how they lost after James Manning (2-26) helped plunge the Academy youngsters to 36-5.
But Tom Burrows (42) and Ian Hilsum (65) launched a sixth-wicket recovery which saw the Academy score rise to 98-6 and later 174-7, with Luke Merry (22) playing a key support role.
The county youngsters reached 200-9 off 50 overs and, with Prittipaul (23) and Michael Barnes (25) back in the pavilion, had Portsmouth at 78-4 and in some unease.
Lee Savident (52) and Manning (28) restored parity and at 182-5 Portsmouth appeared likely winners.
Paul Ancell hit 30 not out, but Kevin Latouf (3-48) made vital inroads as Portsmouth slumped to 197-9 and an eventual three-run defeat.
The win Liphook & Ripsley recorded over Calmore a fortnight ago has ensured Premier 1 cricket at Ripsley Park next season.
But they took a 303-run pounding from South Wilts, for whom former Hampshire batsman Jason Laney made 103 and shared an opening stand of 154 with Alex Senneck (71).
Jon Chandler applied the long handle, cracking a league-best 81 as South Wilts made 303-3.
Tom Caines took 3-39 as Liphook made 175-8 (David Wade 47) in reply.
