SPCL1 Week17 - The championship is back at BAT

BAT Sports have regianed the ECB Southern Electric Premier League championship crown from Havant.

BAT Sports have regained the ECB Southern Electric Premier League championship crown from Havant. They rubber-stamped their second title in three seasons with a comfortable 57-run win over Liphook & Ripsley at Ripsley Park.
They will be formally presented with the trophy by league chairman Alan Bundy before Saturday's final home match against South Wilts at Southern Gardens.
Kiwi Neal Parlane came out of the blocks in typical fashion, scoring 48 of BAT's initial 69 runs - he still needs another 52 to beat Robin Smith's long-standing 1,105-run record - leaving Damian Shirazi (37) and Richard Kenway (30) to consolidate.
Inroads created by spinners Ali Gray (4-35) and Alan Crawford (2-33) left BAT a slightly uncertain 169-6. But a timely 43 by Archie Norris lifted BAT towards a match-winning 235 all out.
Gray (78) and Jez Bulled (43) provided a 99-run response for Liphook, but the Surrey-border side were always behind the clock.
Richard Dibden (3-34) removed both openers and Dan Goldstraw (3-28) got amongst the middle-order before Liphook closed at 178-7.
Bournemouth are certain to finish runners-up - and are firm favourites to win the 50-over Pennant - after beating Havant, the defending champions, by 13 runs.
The result, which partially avenged their recent SET Cup final defeat, leaves Bournemouth six points ahead of newly crowned champions BAT Sports in the Pennant table.
Richard Scott, who batted almost the entire innings for 83, was the cornerstone of Bournemouth's 217-4.
The former Hampshire left-hander shared an 85-run second-wicket partnership with Adam Voges (55) as Bournemouth reached 124-1, and then received some positive assistance from Geoff Warrington (36) as the visitors reached tea.
Simon Barnard (45) and Chris Wright (32) eased Havant to 108-2 but effective left-arm spin spells by Voges (2-23) and Sean Walbridge kept the scoring in check.
Dan Jackson proved Bournemouth's match-winner, taking 4-44 despite a gallant half-century by Paul Gover (50) which kept Havant (204 all out) in the hunt until the closing stages.
Andover fluffed a great chance of beating the Hampshire Academy, only to suffer a middle-order collapse and lose by five runs at London Road.
Kevin Latouf (51), Dai Morgan-Rushbrook (39), Alex Richardson (38) and Tom Burrows (27) top scored in the Academy's 206-6 (Mark Miller 3-32).
Andover were flying at 145-2 with Toby Radford (62) and Roger Miller (39) at the helm. But they mis-fired when three wickets fell for just eight runs.
Ian Langdown (26) hit back, but the Young Hawks got on top and restricted Andover to 210-7 at stumps.
Bashley (Rydal) tied their match with South Wilts at Lower Bemerton - each side scoring 203.
