No replacements for India A July 8, 2003 India's selectors have refused to send any replacements to supplement the injury-hit A side's tour of England. Three of the squad - Sridharan Sriram, Vijay Bharadwaj, and Avishkar Salvi - are unlikely to be fit in time for the start of tomorrow's match against Yorkshire at Headingley. The injuries were discussed in a telephone conversation between Sandeep Patil, the team's coach, and SK Nair, the secretary of the Indian board, but a decision was taken that the squad would not be sent any replacements. "Our job is to report the matter, not ask for replacements," Patil told rediff.com. "But one more injury and we will be in real trouble." Sriram sustained a hairline fracture to his left arm when he was struck in the nets, Bharadwaj fractured a finger, while Salvi split the webbing on his left hand. © Cricinfo
