Recruitment of new Manager Administration of Sri Lanka Cricket

Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ajith Abeygunawardena as Manager Administration with effect from 1st October 2003.

He has over 25 years of experience in Management, Marketing and Administration and was employed by Ceylon Tobacco Co. Ltd, Pure Beverages Co. Ltd. and Swiss Cheese Co. Ltd during this period holding several key management positions in Sri Lanka.

In the past 5 years, he was employed by the "Sports Authority" which is the largest sports retail marketing company in the USA as an Operations Manager.

He has also served Sri Lanka Cricket in a honorary capacity from 1983-1997 and has served in all sub-committees as well as been elected as Hony. Asst. Secretary on two occasions.

He played with distinction for St. Thomas' College - Mt. Lavinia from 1971-1973 as a left arm leg spinner.

Subsequently, he represented the Colombo Cricket Club and the Singhalese Sports Club in Division 1, 2 and 3 cricket. He has also served the Singhalese Sports Club as its Chairman - Cricket House Committee on several occasions.
