 Profile

Arshad Laiq first came to prominience in Pakistan cricket when he was a stand-by selection for the 1988 Youth World Cup held in Australia. The talented all-rounder went on to achieve much dis- tinction in domestic cricket, and represented Pakistan U-19`s in a three day fixture against India with some success. However, he failed to reap any rewards for his efforts and was ultimately so disillusioned that he swore himself off the game, and burnt his kit. However, on arriving in the UAE in 1989, he was persuaded by Madan Lal to get back into shape, and is now happy in the reali- sation of his dream to play International cricket during his second coming as a cricketer. His body may not be as supple as it once was, but class is permanent, and it is evident to see in both his batting and bowling that Arshad Laiq perhaps deserved more.

 Notes
Brother of Ather Laiq (Pak B, Pak u-19s)
Nephew of Saeed Azad (Pak)
