Nick Knight will find out today if he can play in the ICC Knockout Trophy. England team physiotherapist Dean Conway will make the decision after a fitness test that will focus on Knight's left knee.
The 30 year old Warwickshire opener recently underwent knee surgery and commented that "we need to make a decision early next week, and at the moment I have only a 50/50 chance of going to Kenya."
Knight has endured an unfortunate time recently. Having won back a Test place, he was struck on the hand at Lords, and saw Marcus Trescothick take his spot in the One Day and Test teams. His absence would be keenly felt by England though, as he has one of the finest limited overs records in world cricket, with an average of over 40 to his name. He is also one of the most athletic and versatile fielders in the squad.
Michael Vaughan of Yorkshire and Worcestershire's Vikram Solanki are both on standby should Knight fail to recover.
