Dehring confirms appointments of Senior Executives

Several senior positions have been filled by ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc. (ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc.) as the region continues its preparation to stage the biggest sporting event held in the Caribbean, in two years time.

Several senior positions have been filled by ICC Cricket World Cup West Indies 2007 Inc. (ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc.) as the region continues its preparation to stage the biggest sporting event held in the Caribbean, in two years time.
The appointments, which were confirmed today, will see the utilisation of some of the best talent from the respective areas of expertise from across the region and will help strengthen the team led by Chris Dehring, Managing Director and CEO.
Dehring commented on the wealth of talent and experience being pooled from across the region for this event. "We are fully committed to making this event the best Cricket World Cup ever and that means constantly seeking the best, this is particularly important in our staffing. We now have our core senior staff in place, with the exception of our Cricket Operations Director, who will be appointed shortly."
The appointments are as follows:
A former Barbadian Assistant Commissioner of Police and Commandant of the Regional Police Training Centre in Barbados, John Collymore has taken up the position of Security Director. Collymore is a qualified attorney-at-law. His last assignment in the Royal Barbados Police Force was "Operations Support and Community Safety", which was very actively involved in the highly acclaimed new security arrangements put in place last year at Kensington Oval during the West Indies vs England Cricket test match. Collymore has benefited from training in Canada, the United Kingdom and the FBI Academy in the United States of America.
Derek Jones, a senior partner with one of the region's prestigious law firms `Myers Fletcher and Gordon', has been seconded to the organisation to act as Senior Legal Counsel. Jones has more than 34 years legal experience internationally and throughout the region.
The Corporate Communications Director is Marvia Roach, a Caribbean national who until recently was based in the UK. She brings world-class experience and exposure to the job having coordinated the delivery and exploitation of all aspects of the Global Partner designation on behalf of Pepsi during the last ICC Cricket World Cup held in South Africa. Roach has over eight years experience in Communications and Public Relations working across youth and telecommunications brands, as well as celebrity publicity and international events.
Formerly of IBM, Human Resources Manager, Stephanie Christian brings both experience and quality training to the job. With more than 20 years experience as a human resources professional, Christian has been responsible for successfully delivering HR programmes, she is a trained Human Resources Development Consultant and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources Management and Psychology.
Christopher Kean holds the position of Finance Director, bringing a wealth of experience in accounting and treasury functions. A former Chief Financial Officer of Trinidadian conglomerate, Neal & Massy, he is well versed on regional issues and financial processes. He assisted with the successful restructuring of their Jamaican operations which returned to profitability between 1996 and 2000.
