Scorecard and ball-by-ball
Griqualand West squandered an excellent chance to take the lead after bowling out Border for 240 - they collapsed to 184 in the UCB Provincial Cup final at
the De Beers Oval in Kimberley.
Griquas never recovered from a bad start with only Jason Brooker (48)
and Bradley Lemmetjies (34) putting up any resistance. With Wendall
Bossenger failing to score, the Griqua innings never got off the ground
as they faced a 56-run first innings deficit. The wickets were shared
amongst the bowlers with Lundi Mbane coming out tops with a career best
3 for 47.
As if Border had caught the wicket virus they struggled to 69 for 5 in
the 23 overs bowled. They take a lead of 125 runs into day three of the
four day final.
