  • Yuvraj Singh's 113 is his first century in World Cups.
  • This was Ravi Rampaul's first World Cup match, and he returned figures of 5 for 51. His previous best, 4 for 37, came in West Indies' last win against a Test side other than Bangladesh, in June 2009, against the same opponents, India.
  • Apart from Rampaul, Suresh Raina and R Ashwin too made their World Cup debuts today. Also West Indies opening batsman Kirk Edwards made his international debut.
  • When R Ashwin successfully challenged Steve Davis's decision to get an LBW verdict against Kirk Edwards, it was the first time in this World Cup that a decision made by Davis was overturned.
  • Between the two collapses by the two sides, 15 wickets fell for 84 runs. India went from 218 for 3 to 268 all out, while West Indies outdid the hosts by falling from 154 for 2 to 188 all out.
