Justin Langer rewarded for consistency

In a gala event held at the Hyatt Regencey hotel on Monday night, Justin Langer was named WA Sports Star of the year.

Featuring in a very strong field that umongst others contained Australian wicketkeeping sensation Adam Gilchrist, golfer Jarrod Mosely and star surfer Taj Burrows, Langer was rewarded for his consistency during the 1999 calendar year by the WA Sports Minister Norman Moore.

Voting was conducted by the WA Sports Federation, and a committee from the sports desk at the sponsor: the West Australian newspaper.
