Nottinghamshire have signed Andre Adams, the New Zealand allrounder, for the remainder of the 2007 season. He is no newcomer to English cricket as he was at Essex between 2004 and 2006.
Adams will replace David Hussey as the second overseas player alongside Stephen Fleming and is expected to make his County Championship debut against Northamptonshire next Wednesday (August 22).
"Andre is an experienced and capable performer who knows all about the county circuit," Mick Newell, Nottinghamshire's director of cricket, said. "He actually approached us asking if we were interested given the situation with our bowling attack, and we were delighted to take him up on the offer.
"He knows the area, having had a spell in club cricket with Kimberley, and also knows what will be expected of him having played so many times with Stephen."
Hussey has joined the Australia A side in Pakistan after another hugely successful season in which he scored 1219 Championship runs at an average of 93.77.
