ADELAIDE, Oct 27 AAP - NSW captured five wickets in today's opening session to force South Australia to follow on and then left the Redbacks at 3-60 in their second innings at lunch on day three of the Pura Cup cricket match at Adelaide Oval.
Greg Blewett was unbeaten on 16 and Mark Higgs on eight, with SA still trailing by 181 runs overall with seven wickets in hand.
The Redbacks were dismissed for 233 in their first innings in the second over today.
Nathan Bracken bowled Paul Rofe and Mark Harrity for ducks in consecutive balls to finish the innings with 5-47.
Redbacks tailender John Davison was left unbeaten on 72, in just 56 balls, with a defiant innings that included nine fours and three sixes.
SA's top order then crumbled again in its second innings.
Stuart Clark dismissed openers Ben Johnson (four) and David Fitzgerald (24) for the second time in the match.
Leg-spinner Stuart MacGill then had Darren Lehmann caught at midwicket for seven, after having him dropped at mid-on when he was on four just two overs earlier.
Lehmann's scratchy innings is likely to have dashed his hopes of earning a spot for Australia in this week's opening Ashes Test match in Brisbane, following his unconvincing 45 in the first innings.
