Steffan Jones, the Somerset seam bowler, has signed a two-year contract with Derbyshire.
Jones, 35, had been on loan to the county - earlier this season he had joined Kent on a month-long loan deal - and they have now signed him full time. He took 30 wickets at 32.33 in nine matches during the second half of the 2009 season with Derbyshire. In addition to his on-field role Jones will help in coaching the Derbyshire bowlers.
John Morris, the club's head of cricket, said: "Steffan has been an excellent addition and we're delighted to have secured his services on a more permanent basis."
