Harry Came, the great-grandson of former England captain and chairman of selectors Walter Robins, made his Hampshire debut at the age of 20 as a concussion substitute at The Oval. Having come through the age groups, Came only managed five senior appearances before being released in 2020 - but he was offered a contract by Derbyshire the following summer after impressing in the 2nd XI T20 competition.
His chance initially came in the white-ball formats, before he produced a breakthrough season in 2023. Brought in to open the batting in the Championship, he scored his maiden first-class hundred against Gloucestershire before striking up a productive partnership with Luis Reece. When Derbyshire were made to follow on at home to Glamorgan, the pair compiled the county's highest opening stand - an unbroken 360 - to save the game. Came, who had just signed a new contract until 2025, finished 141 not out for a new career best.
