Two leading All-rounders from Eight Test Playing Countries have been
invited to compete to become Double Wicket World Champions and win a share of a US$175,000 prize fund.
The Double Wicket World Championship will be held over three days at the Beausejour Cricket Ground,
St Lucia and played as a round robin tournament with two groups each of four teams.
The key elements are as follows:
- Each team consists of two players who must bat and bowl
- When a player loses a wicket, 10 runs are deducted from the batting teams total
and the player remains at the crease
- Each innings is eight overs long and the fielding team bowl four overs each
- All fielding including wicket keeping is carried out by international guest fielders
Double Wicket is a simple yet extremely exciting form of cricket. It provides a stage for
the game's most flamboyant and entertaining cricket characters in the world. Combining these
players' enormous appetite for competition with the high stakes of a substantial prize fund,
a dramatic spectacle is produced. The risk taking will be in abundance, with big hitting play
