He represented Queensland Primary Schools in 1992-93 and again in 1993 when he captained the team for the series played in Darwin. He was a member of the Queensland Secondary Schools team in 1998-99 and the Queensland Under 19 team in 1999-00 in which season he also played for Queensland Colts in the Sydney Gregory Cup match. In the northern summer of 2000 he played in England with the Windsor Club, having a most successful season. In September 2000 he was a late inclusion in the Country Origin team for the match at Warwick, replacing Brian May who was unable to play. He was then included in the Queensland Academy of Sport team for the opening ACB Cup match against Australian Cricket Academy played at Albion, recording scores of 96 and 77 not out.
